Garry MacDonald
Garry is the founder of Tartan IS and has been working in IT and Telecoms for the past twenty years. After graduating in Electrical and Electronic Engineering Garry began his career with Racal Datacom designing and implementing wide area networks for some of the largest UK corporations.
After 8 years in the deep South of England, Garry moved to Belfast to work for IT Alliance supporting Digital/Compaq in a business development role particularly in the fields of Oracle and Microsoft.
Following the downturn after 'Year 2000' he saw an opportunity to move away from the larger Private and Public Sector work that is the provision of larger IT companies in the Province and better support the small and medium sized businesses that had little or no IT expertise of their own. In August 2001 Tartan IS was formed to meet these growing businesses needs.
Day to day Garry can be found working with the Tartan team supporting, researching and developing their clients' technology to make a difference within their own.
