28 November 2008 - Three times faster download of up to 24M bit/s and an upload speed of up to 2.5M bit/s and all with no bandwidth limitations.
Brace yourselves, the next generation of superfast broadband is almost upon us. It has been over two years (June 1st 2006) since the last major speed upgrade was introduced, 'ADSL Max', to the now infamous claims of '8 meg downloading for all'.
As we've learnt, to our disappointment, that 8 meg speed claim is the theroetical maximum and in practice, even being the closest you can be to a BT exchange, you'll be hard pushed to get even a sustainable 7M bit/s.
A new broadband champion, ADSL2+, is now emerging to carry on where ADSL Max. has left off and take us on up to 24 Meg.
In reality, from what we have experienced so far, the fastest broadband speeds will be closer to 21M bit/s. In our honest opinion we shouldn't get too hooked up on the 24 meg figure because what is pertinent is the proportional increase that you will get ie, 3x what ever your current down/upload speed is at present.
Before we launch our services onto the Northern Ireland business market we will finish our own in-house trials that are spread across three seperate Northern Ireland exchanges. That way we can then advise our customers as to what speed they can realistically expect to achieve from their own connection.
We believe that this is vitally important as the chances are, that this time around, you will be migrating from an existing broadband connection and given the dependence of your business on email and internet connection in this 'I need it now society' nobody needs to be buying risk.
New 24 meg broadband features:
- Download of up to 24M bit/s, upload of up to 2.5M bit/s
- Uncapped service ie no bandwidth download limits
- 1 Static IP (more if required)
- Telephone and remote support and
- On-site support (for NI based businesses only)
Upon conclusion of our testing we will send out full details: prices, packages and a list of all the upgraded Northern Ireland exchanges, our support services, typical usage scenarios, advice etc to all those registerd to receive our eNewsletter.
